The 13th Annual Young Artists Vocal Competition, sponsored by the Gulf Coast Messiah Chorus, will be held Saturday, October 19, 2023.
We invite participation from outstanding singers hailing from the Mississippi Gulf Coast region, ages 15 - 25. Handel’s oratorio Messiah is a challenging work and one beloved by singers around the world.
At the competition the participants sing a Messiah solo before a panel of judges. Scholarships are awarded. The young contestants then attend several rehearsals and sing Handel’s Messiah with the Chorus.
The top soloists will have the honor of performing their solo during the 72nd concert season of the Gulf Coast Messiah Chorus, December 6-8, 2024.
